Fish and Game

Ivor is the artistic director of Fish And Game, a performance company creating live performance works for a range of contexts and audiences. Fish And Game was originally set up by Ivor and his long-term collaborator Robert Walton in 2005 as a harbour for their performance projects.

Their first major project was the Scottish Arts Council and Tramway supported show, Otter Pie – A cheeky meditation on Scottishness and Happiness. This toured Scotland and was a collaboration with some of the most interesting live artists in Scotland today, including Nic Green, Laura Bradshaw and Murray Wason.

Perhaps Fish And Game’s best known work was a series of iPad theatre pieces that took individual audience members on magical filmic journeys round a Edwardian school, a child’s bedroom, and a deserted theatre. Alma Mater was part of the Made In Scotland showcase in 2011 and then toured to London, Cologne and Melbourne. Our first iPad piece is now a permanent fixture for visitors to Scotland Street School Museum, Glasgow.

Now much of the work is focused on children and their adults aiming to make work that can be as entertaining as it is experimental. Fish And Game produced Ivor’s projects as part of the Commonwealth Games Cultural Programme in 2014 – Everyone’s A Winner, Baby!, The Conference Call of the Birds and Bicycle Boom for Cargo, Camera, Action.

For under 5s, the very popular Polar Bears Go Wild!, created with Fiona Manson and the Polar Bear team, has toured extensively in Scotland and England and we’ve since created a new Polar Bear show as a co-production with the Unicorn Theatre, London. The Polar Bears Go Up! is touring nationally and internationally and the Polar Bears return for a new show, The Polar Bears Go Go Go! which premieres at The Unicorn in March 2019.
